My experience at Mt. Clef Hall has been one of growth, community, and memorable firsts. As a first-generation college student, I wasnโt sure what to expect living on campus, but Mt. Clef quickly became more than just a dormโit became a home away from home. From the first night, when our RA hosted an icebreaker event, I started to build connections with people who, like me, were navigating new independence. We bonded over late-night study sessions, hallway conversations, and spontaneous movie nights in the lounge.
The hall's intimate layout made it easy to meet people, and it didnโt take long for familiar faces to become trusted friends. We supported each other through the stress of exams, homesickness, and adjusting to college life. Living in Mt. Clef helped me learn how to share a space respectfully, balance responsibilities, and develop better time management. It was in that building where I had my first real conversations about mental health, identity, and future goals.
What stood out most was the sense of belonging. Whether it was sharing meals in the common kitchen or decorating our doors during holidays, the small moments added up. Mt. Clef didnโt just house studentsโit created a community.
