Meyran Hall Dorm Reviews at Hood

I have very mixed feeling about living in Meyran Hall. It is definitely better than living in Smith but there were still problems. Before Blazer Hall, it was the only dorms with a sink in the rooms which was helpful because you wouldn't have to leave your room to brush your teeth, but the building was very old and the sinks would wet the carpeted floor or leak from the room above. Maintenance was helpful and fixed these problems but it was concerning and irritable how many times it happened. Also the main entrance door would not close for a couple days and was left open which caused a safety hazard. The kitchen on the bottom level was scary and it smelled awful. I lived on the opposite side of the hall of the women bathrooms so I would have to walk a whole hallway every time I had to shower or use the bathroom. There were also only two showers in our women's restroom, which meant sometimes I had to use a different floor's showers. There were also bath tubs in our bathrooms which explains how old the building really is. However, the room size was nice and it is right next to the Dining Hall. I believe they are planning to renovate this building next, hopefully.
