Friars Hall Dorm Reviews at QU

My experience at Friars Hall has always been a good one whether it's the room, the staff or even my neighbors, the experience is positive. Friars Hall is at the center of campus giving access to most all buildings like the library, the Cafe and the Health & Fitness Center (the rec). I lived on the 5th floor and it was great to have an elevator! Each floor is basically a circle with the elevator in the center. When walking into your single-person dorm room, you'll see a sink and built-in closet, a dresser in the 'kitchenette' area. This area provides a separate section from the bedroom area. The University provides a twin bed and desk and I had a wonderful view of the chapel across the street, as well as, superb sunsets every night! As far as safety and health, Friar's students are never far off thanks to the fact that both the Security Office and the Health Clinic are in the lobby. Quincy weather can be quite cold and wet but never fear, Friars has a walkway on the second floor that is connected to the main classroom building, Francis Hall. So, you will never get cold or wet in the snow or rain! I have even rolled out of bed and gone straight to class! I've loved living in Friars!

The location of Friars at Quincy University is fantastic because you can walk directly into a hallway that leads to the main academic building. This is great for the winter. However the lighting through there can make it scary and I had a female friend who was grabbed by someone on the elevator. Since then they added cameras at the elevator doors on each floor.
