Sayers Hall Dorm Reviews at Texas State

Sayers Hall was a clean and large dorm hall that offered a great living space for the students. It housed the nursing LLC which I lived on which allowed me to connect with other nursing students. Sayers was kept clean and quiet.

Moving away from home into dorm life with strangers with the you hope they will become some of your closest friends is hard for everyone to do but it helps you out in the long run. For me, living at Sayers Hall helped that transition become easier. In movies it shows that dorm life can sometimes suck and that it won’t work how you want it to, but it was the opposite for me. My dorm experience was great, and I hope others that stayed there feel the same way. There were many reasons why I loved that dorm and one of those is the room. The room was suite style so even though I had 3 other roommates, I still had a sense of privacy. The room was also really spacious, so me and my roommates weren’t cramped together, and each had our own space to do our homework or other activities. I also liked how we had our own bathroom and shower and not a communal one. This made my dorm experience even better because instead of sharing a bathroom with a whole floor, it was only with my suitemates. The location was great in my opinion because there were multiple parking lots near the dorm, and I was right next to a dining hall and the rec center. The building was a little far from where my classes were but after about a week, the walk was easy and went by fast. However, one thing I did not like was that sometimes it would be really loud on my floor or when I would be trying to study. It didn’t happen all the time but whenever it did, it was not a fun time. Overall, my dorm experience was great, and I would recommend it to anyone who plans on attending Texas State.

The dorms are beautiful, although there were issues with the elevators getting stuck sometimes and students always left their clothes in the laundry room which was very annoying. The dorms are also on the edge of campus so everything is somewhat of a far walk. There is only one dining hall that is close, but the food there is not always good. The Rec is also close for those students who like to work out. Other than that there were not many issues with the dorms themselves. I just recommend having roommates that aren't messy.

Very nice dorms, but it was a little far from the main campus area. We had a volleyball court, pool table, two dining rooms and giant screen rooms for events. I was very lucky and grateful that I got this dorm.

My experience at Sayers Hall was amazing. I met some pretty great friends in that dorm hall. The year that I was a freshmen and lived on Sayers was when it was the newest dorm on campus. It was so fancy but soooo far away from my classes. I had to book it to every one of my classes which was the only downfall. The volleyball court at Sayers is where I spent most of my time.

I love staying in Sayers! I got lucky with a beautiful view of campus! The staff is super understanding and actually care about the students. Would definitely recommend living there to any incoming freshmen!

I like it a lot. It is one of the nicest dorms on campus because it is fairly new compared to the other buildings. I do not really like the location of the building. It is located on the edge of campus and is far away from the library and other halls. It is very close to a dining hall which is good and is very close to the rec also. If you're willing to walk places then this may be a good place for you. It also isn't too bad because the bus stop is fairly close so you can also catch the bus and save yourself the walk in this Texas heat.
