Jennings Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Florida

I lived in Jennings Hall my freshman year at the University of Florida. I chose the location for convenience, as well as the on site parking and nearby additional parking areas. I loved living here and had minimal issues with cleanliness in the dorm and noise levels. There were some instances of loud levels of noise, however, I also resided in the dorm at a time where in-person classes were not in session (Fall 2020).

My experience at Jennings Hall was humbling. I learned how to negate the privacy I grew up with (i.e., having a room to myself, using a single-toilet bathroom alone, having consistently clean hygiene areas) while maintaining my mental health. As I did not make friends with my roommate, it was an eye opening experience in gaining an appreciation for living situations I had previously taken advantage of.

Jennings Hall was a good place to live on campus. I met some of my best friends there and we've stayed extremely close! It can be a bit unpredictable sometimes (I was caught in the shower during the fire alarm twice!) but overall, I really enjoyed my experience!

Would play ping-pong a lot downstairs in the common room. The study room was always a great and convenient place to get work done, though it can get packed and loud at times. The bathroom stalls weren't bad and the maintenance was very quick to clean up throw up. However, the shower stall I went in always had hair in the drain (even on a weekday after cleaning). The people at the service desk were always so nice and helpful. The vending machines were always pretty full and had great choices compared to other residence halls on campus.

I lived here my freshman year of college and loved it! The bathrooms were not the most cleanly, but that can be expected of a dorm hall home to over 70 students per floor. The common areas were always great to hang out in— very spacious with plenty of seats to study in. The location of Jennings is also incredible; it's in walking distance to many of central campus's most frequently used buildings. I also felt very safe at Jennings, as the dorm hall is located right next to the campus police station.

My experience at Jennings was interesting. I am not a fan of communal bathrooms. People’s hair got everywhere. People didn’t care that other people were using the bathroom as well. Besides that, the year I lived there, there was a break in where a guy had a gun. I did not feel that safe in Jennings knowing that people just let others in
