Springs Residential Complex Dorm Reviews at University of Florida

I enjoy that Springs is a suite style dorm with a bathroom shared between two rooms, as well as the spacious closets. It is very quiet here and not very social because there aren't many common areas. Additionally, it is further away from the main buildings compared to other dorms.

Springs was big, clean, quiet, and very far from campus. As far as a freshmen dorm goes, I didnβt make my friends here, but Iβm glad I had such a nice dorm. I made a lot of friends at more social dorms and didnβt have issues.

The suite layout is definitely the biggest perk. Frat row is LOUD, all hours, every day, every night of the week. People will also tailgate in the lawn on game day. The actual bedrooms are nice-ish and the semi-private bathrooms are one of the biggest perks. The laundry is annoying as you have to lug your stuff out of the building to the big central commons building and back.

Great space for an on-campus dorm with large closets and bathrooms comfortable for the 4 individuals in a suite. Great location with bus routes taking you to the center of campus in minutes! Parking availability near Frat Row is an added bonus for residents with cars.

Springs Residential Complex has good staff members who are very nice and thoughtful. The noise isn't that loud and the walls seem to be very thick to where you don't hear your suit mate. You have a good amount of space in rooms.

Pretty big rooms and its suite style so you get to share a bathroom with only one other room. The closet is very big as well and addition to that and the ability to have a desk and space for dressers makes it feel very spacious.

The location was great on campus. It was close to many of the classes I needed to take and opened up many social opportunities. However, I and many others have complained about the growing mold in the dorm rooms. A friend of mine had mold growing in their closet for a full semester and was very sick before discovering it.

An average experience. Not a wonderful place to live, but also not terrible. Iβd say itβs the best out of the options at UF for on-campus housing. Bigger than most dorms on campus, but also a bit further away from campus center.

I would say it is ideal for people that would be alright with not having the typical American college dorm experience. Since each room, single or double, has its a shared bathroom with an identical room, the most immediate interaction could be between 4 people. I stayed in a double with a friend and never interacted with the other double sweetmeats. It is a little expensive and on par with some off-campus apartments which offer private bathrooms. I would recommend it for first years would like to have more privacy in their dorms and not worry about utilities.

My experience at Springs was much better than I expected. The room was very spacious; it had walk-in closets and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. We shared the bathroom with my roommate, suitemates, and me. This set up was much better and more convenient than sharing a communal bathroom with an entire dorm hall. It was spotless because someone from maintenance came once a week to scrub and sanitize our bathroom and floors. Although sometimes our neighbors were very loud, I never had any real issues with the noise and was able to study without a problem. The location was an issue at first because it was so far from campus, but once I got used to the bus, it made it so much easier to get around. Springs Complex was a 10 minute run to the largest gym on campus, which was very convenient since I did not have a car. The complex felt safe, but since it was located in Frat Row, it was dangerous to walk around that area at night. The staff was always there for us whenever we had any concerns, which made my first year much more comfortable. The common area was disappointing because there was not enough study room area for the number of people who lived in the complex. Compared to other housing, it had one of the worst study spaces I had seen.
