Sokokis Hall Dorm Reviews at UNE

I absolutely love living in solo. While it is farther from the main campus the space and amenities more than make up for it. It is a very social dorm which makes it very fun and never boring. I would definitely recommend living in soko.

Sokokis Hall is by far the best door building on campus! I lived there sophomore year of college and loved the setup and quiet of the building. it was a short distance away from my classes. I would recommend it to all UNE students.

Sokokis Hall has its perks of a great location on campus for the athletic events, and the most convenient parking out of any of the dorms on campus. The downside is that it is also the loudest on campus, and there is no air conditioning. Overall it is one of the better upperclassman dorms with single room or double rooms available within the suits.

It is a very nice hall, just a little off from the main campus. If not an athlete or studying any type of exercise sciences this dorm is not for you. All the halls that are meant for other students it is a walk every day and no where near the dining halls. Overall it is still a very nice hall and the rooms are quite nice and open as well.

Sokokis Hall is far away from the rest of campus but, it is a convenient place to stay if you are an athlete. It is located right next to the Forum where most sports activities take place. The hall also has an elevator which is nice.

Can hear people from the rooms above you through the vents. Can also hear most people if they have their window open if you're on the inside of the L shape dorm. The shower drains clog quickly. Our toilet has also clogged numerous times. Parts pf the tile floors (living area, bathrooms, and certain tiles in the bedrooms) are heated which is really nice especially in Maine winters. Right next to the Alfond Forum, which would be great if the dining facility there was open on the weekends, which its not, but the food there is pretty good. Also great when sports can start up again or if you have class in the Forum. Not so great if you have classes in the Marine Science Center on the other side of campus. Kind of secluded from the rest of campus. There is a nice little path with small wooded areas next to it that goes under the road, so you don't have to try to cross the street to get to the rest of campus. Some dorm rooms don't have a closet in the kitchen while others do. Not all bedrooms are the same size in one dorm, ours have two singles and a double bedroom, obviously the double needs to be bigger but one single is even bigger than the other. Supposed to have someone at the front desk, but there hasn't been, maybe due to COVID changes. Pretty clean but some students ca be rude and leave their dropped food. Trash bins (to take your room trash out to) are far across the parking lot.

I love it! It allows me to have the feeling of living in my own apartment while still being on campus. It is furthest from the dining hall, but the food at the neighboring forum is amazing. It is the perfect building for athletes and any student who wants enjoy some freedom. It doesn't have a full kitchen which kind of sucks, but the island and chairs is very helpful for roommate dinners.

I just began my Fall semester, so I am fairly new here at Sokokis Hall. However, so far, it has been a big upgrade from last year's standards. I like living here (they even have heated floors in some spots!) and the community is always friendly.
