Urness Hall Dorm Reviews at Augsburg

Urness hall is the resident life for freshman and it is nice and it brings a homey vide when staying there. Urness hall has an computer room that is open 24 hours and is the only one open that long, so when it comes to school work this is one of the best places to be.

Overall, I loved living in the dorms, it felt like a big sleep over all the time. I made really good friends and it was easy to hang out. The bathrooms were disgusting, but the group rooms were very comfortable to sit and do work.

I lived on the 9th floor of Urness (which is the top floor) so it's was pretty quiet and it was a floor full of girls who just keep to themselves. Some floors weren't like that but mines was The only noise you hear was when you open the window and you'll can hear the traffic on I-94, which was the loudest in the morning. Every floor has a common space which is great for studying but they only had one kitchen for the whole dorm and you couldn't use the stove because it would always smoke up and stink up the first couple of floors. It's really warm and hot in the winter, early fall, and summer because hot air rises and Urness has no AC, so bring a fan.

There are no security cameras, so thefts are common. When things break it takes forever forever for it to get fixed. The RAs and staff are very nice and helpful. The dorm rooms are on the smaller side. Urness Hall is where the majority of the freshman stay, so it is a nice way to make new friends.

My experience was fair considering the COVID pandemic. The bathrooms were cleaned for a couple of days instead of the whole week. During the day it was quiet and at night there was a little noise like door slams. Overall my experience at Urness Hall was one to remember.

Urness Hall dorms are overall clean and safe and provide a good community experience for first year students. There is no air conditioning but that issue solves itself as the year goes on and the weather cools, and that's the only con about Urness Hall so overall I'd recommend Urness Hall to anyone!
