Brooks Residential College Dorm Reviews at Baylor

It was a nice experience for my first time being in a dorm room. The dorm in general was nice, the staff was friendly, plus the leader of the dorm room, Dr. Rishi, was very nice and me and him got along. The floors of the door room each had a different kind of theme to it, I was on the second floor and the theme was Adventure Time for Fall 2022 to Spring 2023. The room themselves were pretty neat, not a lot of space, but it was manageable. Plus, I learned that I didn't need as many things as I brought that time around. The bathrooms were neat, and I would clean the bathroom, although my roommate didn't really clean. The dining hall at the Dorm was nice; it reminded me of the cafeteria in Harry Potter, and even though the selections were limited per day, the food was still good. Overall, for my first-time experience at a dorm room, I enjoyed it.

I moved into Brooks as a freshman at Baylor, and I had a really good, private experience. None of the people here bothered me too much or forced me into doing things I didn't want to do. I loved how quiet the community was, but wish there were more networking events. A lot of the students here were sophomores. As a freshman it was kind of hard to get friends here.

My experience at Brooks Residential College has been wonderful. It is a unique dormitory compared to the others around my campus. My dorm is considered to be a Living and Learning Center that specializes in engaging students and centralizes in the community. It also is one of the few that encourages students to live there for all four years. In addition to being a resident, I am also on the student council which helps to plan events for the other residents at the dorm. Events that I have helped plan include our formal, sports tournaments, concerts, and many others. Additionally, I have worked with Hole In the Roof to create merchandise for residents that been engaged during the year. My project for this year was to create blankets and I helped distribute jackets, sweatshirts, and cups. Overall, the actual facilities of the dorm are wonderful. We have several study spaces including a study space per floor as well as a library and a conference room. Additionally, there is a dining hall attached. The actual rooms themselves are very nice. We have our own bathrooms and it was one of the recently renovated dorms on campus.

My time living at Brooks was definitely better than the typical dorm experiences. Although there was the unfortunate two year commitment, I enjoyed the location of being on campus and near the academic buildings. The only major downfall I can think about is the cafeteria, which served subpar food.

Brooks is a great place to live to establish friendships fast. This dorm is meant to foster relationships and that mainly happens through the dorm itself. With a variety of room options, all of which are very nice compared to typical dorm standards, and a multitude of study and socialization places within a few steps of your room, it is a great dorm experience. Plus, there are no community bathrooms!

The dorms at Brooks Residential College are very nice and spacious. However, the dinning hall comes to be very enchanting to those who are, specially, fans of Harry Potter or perhaps a fan of antique architecture.

It is okay. Very inconvenient if you are a science student because the BSB is a ways away compared to Earle or Teal. The people can be very clickish and if you don't try and fit in, it can be a hard experience. They expect a lot of your time.

One of the best dorms that you can apply to. The rooms are very spacious. There are no communal restrooms as all of the rooms in brooks are suites. You can share a room with one other person or three other people.

I have lived at Brooks Residential College for a year and a half and have enjoyed my experience. Each dorm has their own bathroom and privacy and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Every person naturally has a smile on their face and will assist in any necessary. I have thoroughly enjoyed living there and all the people I have met.

I have lived at Brooks Residential College for a year and a half now. The downside to living here is that you are bound to live here for two years, regardless of whether you experience problems with a suitemate/roommate once you sign a contract. The only way to leave is whether you can convince a council of students and faculty at Brooks to end the contract.

I have honestly loved my experience at this dorm. All of the staff here are super nice and helpful and when I have had issues they were fixed very quick. In addition, I love the environment and atmosphere. There are several events that the dorm puts on for students to meet other students and participate in fun events and even taste popular Waco restaurants. There even events for each individual hall to participate every Thursday which is always fun to attend no matter what the objective is. Moreover, the room themselves are very nice for a college dorm. There are individual bathrooms and there are of reasonable size and many options to choose from.

Brooks is a convenient place to live because it has a chapel and a dining hall. It also has its own mailboxes for letter so you don’t have to go to the sub. It has its own little quad area which is nice, and they also try to do events as a dorm. It’s community-centered, so you’ll get to know people, but also there’s no obligation.

Brooks Residential College is a great place to live. I have met a lot of people there and became good friends with them. I enjoy spending time there to study or relax. It is a clean area to live, and I was impressed with the quality of living.
