University Parks Dorm Reviews at Baylor

University Parks Apartments is an excellent dorm experience for the first year. Although it is about a 3-minute drive and a 15-minute walk from campus, the people there make it feel like home. Each apartment has its own washer, dryer, oven, microwave, and two bathrooms with showers. The living room area is a great size for four people- even with parties or social gatherings everyone fits comfortably inside for a great time. The parking lot is gated and police officers drive around occasionally to ensure no suspicious activity! My roommates and I became close friends with our neighbors and we are still really close today after 2 years.

I loved living in University Parks it was super spacious compared to most dorms. There is also a security guard at the gate so you get a sense of safety. I stayed in a 2 person dorm each room had it's own bathroom which was awesome. In the common areas we shared a kitchen, living room, and laundry room.

University Park on campus apartments are the perfect place for those looking to experience the apartment lifestyle but still have the benefits of being "on-campus". By this, I mean that there are no monthly water or electricity bills (which is very convenient) and everything is tied in with your tuition so scholarships that you receive from the school will contribute to the housing fee. The staff is great, plenty of parking space (no need for parking permits) and it is very secure with closed in gates. Another thing is that it isn't just one huge building but a bunch of sub buildings, so unlike the huge off campus apartments you don't have to walk down a bunch of hallways or have to wait for the elevator to get to your room (so move in was super easy). The bathrooms are kind of small but its bearable, I live in a four bedroom apartment so two people share bathrooms, but its not that bad. The living room is huge with plenty of space with a pretty descent kitchen attached. We even have a balcony thats a descent size so its pretty nice. The down side I would say that it really isn't an ideal walking distance to the actual campus for it to be considered an "on-campus" housing, but they do provide shuttles and buses (free) so its nice, honestly it helps me be more aware of time and get ready faster and earlier because if I miss the bus right before my class, I'll be late. We also technically do have CL's but they don't ever come to your apartment unless theres a reason to. Other than that, I really enjoy living at University Parks.

I love it at U Parks. Everyone is nice and helpful. The Apartments are nice, and they have a lot of amenities for the residents. The apartments are also very safe, once I get inside that complex, I feel safe because they have the gate set up where no one can get in without an ID card or checking in with the security at the gate. They also send out reports every week or every time something going on in the area. Also, each building has their own live in CL that will help you and give you advice whenever you need it, they will also bring stuff by to get you involved with the events they put on. Although I think it would be different living in the U Parks if the coronavirus going on right now but it was still fun living there.

Compared to the previously dorm I lived in, Kokernot, this place was amazing. You have a good amount of space in the living room, and the kitchen is a bit small. If you are trying to cook with more than 2 people at the same time it can get pretty complicated. The space becomes too crowded. You have your own laundry machines which is really nice, and the bedrooms are also a good size along with the bathrooms. The only really complaint that I would have is depending on which building you live you will have different noise levels. I lived in building 8 and I was ok but building 11 is where the football boys are so beware. My friend lived in building 7 and it was so loud. The security needs to be better at the gate. They honestly just let anybody inside.

University parks is good for students who have cars. Otherwise there is a bus system that many residents use to get to campus. There have been some car breakins, but if you lock your car, you shouldn’t have a problem.

University Parks is definitely more of an independent experience than a typical college dorm! UP feels very homey and enjoyable! I have made a lot of friends and always felt support from staff. Maintenance is also very quick and helpful!
