Wright Hall Dorm Reviews at Belmont

I am currently living in Wright Hall, and while I'll say it hasn't been an entirely bad experience, there are much nicer and more modern halls on campus. I've heard many horror stories from people about their "communal dorms college experience," but mine hasn't come close to that whatsoever. It feels like a fairly nice communal hall, and they just redid the bathrooms this year, which likely contributes to my good experiences so far. The rooms in Wright are significantly bigger than most college dorms, and there is so much extra space in the room which has been enjoyable. Additionally, I'm a music major, so the location of Wright is phenomenal because it is right in the heart of the campus, and all of my classes are extremely close. While my experience in Wright hasn't been bad, it has definitely been frustrating seeing how extremely underwhelming and cheap-feeling it is compared to the other halls on campus. The other freshmen halls have beautiful common areas with lots of seating, and some even have activities available such as pool tables, Wii, movies, etc. Wright/Maddox has one table, two couches, and four chairs, and that's it. There's nothing exciting about it here, and it is frustrating and quite discouraging that we have to pay the same amount of housing tuition as the students who have halls with huge common areas, pretty decorations, games, and more. Being in Wright Hall has made me feel like I'm less than the other students on campus, and some students from other halls have definitely treated people that way too. If you get stuck living in Wright Hall, it likely won't be an awful experience, but if you can apply for housing very early, it's better to do so in order to get a nicer hall.

So far Wright Hall has been great. Everyone is friendly and room is spacious. Amenities are cleaned often and showers are close to the rooms. I’m a junior and this is my favorite dorm so far. I would definitely recommend Wright Hall at Belmont University.

Wright Hall is in what I would argue the best location a freshmen dorm could be. It is in the center of campus, right by the caf and Curb Event and Beaman Life Center, and not super far from the academic buildings. Although it is community style as far as bathrooms, the room sizes definitely make up for it!

Wright Hall is a great dorm to live in! My roommate and I are both music majors so we both have keyboards, and there is plenty of space in our room for our instruments and everything else! The heating/cooling systems work really well.

Wright hall was a great community dorm where I made many friends during social events. The co-ed lobby is a nice introduction to adult living, without all the awkward mishaps associated with coed dorms. The staff was always eager to help or lend a friendly ear, and the price was just right.

Overall, Wright was a great experience for me. One of the only community-style dorms on campus, it was a great option to save some money on room and board. The dorms were safe, clean, and large. The only thing that I would change is adding more common space on each floor as they currently have one common space in the lobby and a study room on each floor.
