Laker Hall Dorm Reviews at Clayton State

First off let me say this, not all dorms are the same and really in most cases you get what you pay for. With that being said there is still a certain level of basic order and cleanliness that I feel is necessary for anyone to truly feel satisfied with the product that they have paid for. Sadly Laker Hall does not met this requirement. While I have enjoyed the students and especially the staff I feel there is a needed change within the schools budgeting to help improve several of the day to day facilities offered at clayton state. One of my biggest concerns would be the cleaning service on campus. The fact that the floors can always remain so dirty is saddening to me because I see all that this school can be, and when people view it they will think that it is just an awful place. When really that could not be further from the truth.

My experience at Laker Hall has been a great one due to the all the amenities and friendly staff. I also love how so many great events take place here in Laker Hall so it keeps me busy so thank you Laker Hall!

its okay if your roommates are cool, living on the first floor has its perks but the people above you may annoy you from time to time if they stomp at late hours. but its cluse to most of the class buildings and stuff like that

Laker Hall was an okay experience for me as a freshman. The actual dorms themselves were not bad and pretty standard in my opinion. The hallways had trash in them sometimes and was never cleaned up by maintenance. I assume they only cleaned the first floor. In the dorms, we had four separate rooms and two bathrooms. You shared the bathroom with the other person that was on the side with you. If you have good roommates then your experience in the dorm will be good. The RAs were nice and helpful. We had a shooting happen during my freshman year, people that did not attend the school snuck in our dorm so that is why I rated the safety so low. We also had a lot of alerts from the campus police about strangers on campus. I didn't necessarily feel unsafe while staying in Laker Hall though. Overall, not a bad experience.

Laker Hall was decent, unfortunately freshmen have to live there unless approved and in close proximity to the school. The staff was great and the building was generally pretty clean. My only concern was safety. The entrance to the building and dorm rooms were locked to anyone without a student card. However the electronic card scanners would break resulting in the building entrance being propped open or else you would have to wait for staff to open the door or use the back entrance. Common areas were great especially the study lounges. Overall Laker Hall provided a fun and good academic experience for freshmen.

Laker Hall is clean, people are friendly and I feel safe. There are a variety of events for students that happen on the first floor with plenty of space for the current circumstance, such as Coronavirus.

I have had a great experience at Laker hall. I don't have any major complaints. The walls are thin so you could hear people upstairs, downstairs, or even people across the hall if they are playing loud music or laughing/talking loud. It's not a big problem too me but it could be annoying to others.

Over all I would say that my expirience at laker hall was generally positive, the only thing I would ask them to edit is the internet connection, as it's not very good and that impedes my online courses quite a bit.

I love living in Laker Hall I actually decided to attend Clayton State University because of the dorms. The layout of the Laker Hall is amazing. Despite the tragedy that happened, I have made numerous of friends and love living there.

It cools, just lay low and you'll be fine. Had someone shoot this week but that was just some boys being dumb in their dorms. Slight weed smell go the 4th floor after hours... I don't really mind. Probably won't be for everyone, but the actual dormitory are apartment style, a kitchenette with your own room.

My experience at lakerhall was a terrible experience, it's mandatory for freshmans to attend the dorms, even though the school wasn't far from my house but I was coerced to stay at the dorms in order for me to start my classes. Before move in day, you take a survey but they don't match you up with roommates that have similarities. It's not mandatory to stay in the dorms if you don't want to. The dorms aren't worth it either because it's extremely smaller than what I had expected, the price of the dorms are way more than the cost of the tuition. I had a few good experiences but I ended up homeless after a while, even after I paid for the dorms... If you want to attend this school just make sure you don't attend the dorms because it'll be a waste of money.

It is an overall comfortable dorm with private rooms It can be a little noisy at times due to the thin walls. Rooms are overall clean and kept up. Outside common areas are not always clean Maintenance is needed in some areas.
