Charleston Southern University Dorm Reviews

Out of the four residences hall similar to Russell West, it is the best one. Russell West is one of the newer dorms so the rooms are really nice and spacious. The bathroom between the two rooms were decent, there were a few issues with the sink and not shutting off all the way. You are definitely very safe in these dorms because of the extra security. Russell West is also in the best location for everything. It's basically right in the center so very close to meals and classes. more

I have enjoyed staying in Russel East. Compared to some of the other dorms, I definitely prefer Russel East. It seems much cleaner than other buildings. There is more open space, full wide length mirror in the bathroom more

Overall I really enjoy living in Women's South. I live on the second floor and it is relatively clean most of the time however, if there is a spill or a mess on the staircase it takes a very long time for it to be cleaned up. Campus is relatively small so the location of Women's south is perfect. It is just far enough away from classes that you feel like you are living in a dorm room, but close enough where you don't have to trek to all your classes. My favorite part of living in Women's south is my hall and my RA. The community is amazing and I love being able to have built in friends and people to talk to. All of the RA's decorate the halls and the staircases and it looks very welcoming and homey. more

It’s not a good photo, but this was my third day at the New Resident Hall, there are two rooms, and two roommates in one room and 2 in the other, all together it’s four people. The places has elevators, stairs, laundry room, two study halls. This place has a different security key in order to get into your part of the dorm room; you couldn’t use your key to open someone’s else dorm, it’s only for your dorm room. I loveeee the New Resident Hall. more

Living in women's north was generally noisy, since it was the freshman dormitory with the occasional upperclassmen. Roomates are good because you can choose, but suitemates made living there unbearable. more

The quads are the most disgusting place to live on charleston souther's campus. They flood every time it rains, then you are walking around in the water when you leave your room. They are immediately outside when you leave your room and so there is just an infestation of bugs and insects crawling into your room and bathrooms. The power will go out every once in a while and won't come back on for a day or two. The wifi is really bad and makes sit very challenging to do any kind of studying or gaming. Overall my experience was very bad and it is sad it is the only option when it comes to living places at CSU. more
