Race Street Residences Dorm Reviews at Drexel

I lived in a four-person suite at Race Hall. The walls were pretty thin, so the noise levels were mid at best. It was a freshman hall after all, so parties every weekend could definitely be heard by others. The cleanliness was completely separated from the maintenance as we shared a bathroom and shower. There were no communal stalls or bathrooms shared. The safety was great-- public safety would monitor the front desk, and guests were required to leave their IDs with the public safety officials. The staff was extremely nice, except for the occasional pretentious student aid. The communal kitchen was kept pretty clean and our Resident Assistant was the best.

Race was a nice dorm. There was a good amount of space within the dorm rooms. The kitchen was nice and clean. The sinks however had cloudy water. Maintenance only came once when we asked to clean out the A/C vent, and never came back again after we made multiple maintenance requests. Overall staying here was nice especially for freshman year.

It has been a lovely Experience being a first year student. The hybrid style dorm rooms allow for a more personal and independent lifestyle. The laundry services and other amenities in the building are well placed and the view is stunning.

Race is a suite style dorm which means there isn't communal bathrooms or anything like that. Cleanliness is up to you and your roommates instead of a cleaning staff. I definitely liked the suite style, but it makes socializing a little harder in my opinion.
