Walton Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at EMU

My experience at Walton Hall was quite interesting. Although the safety of our residents had been secured through key-card access and a program called Nightwatch, we still received emails frequently about shootings and robberies in the area. The bathrooms that connected neighboring rooms were kind of outdated, along with the room. The white brick walling made you feel like you were in a prison sometimes. The people are extremely friendly in this hall, and incredibly inclusive. The RA's were phenomenal!

I had a lot of good memories at Walton Hall honestly. Sometimes I wished that the building was further into campus, but I did like that it was connected to the Eateries. The water pressure was not the greatest, but that's just dorms. It stayed pretty quiet as well.

I like Walton, I just wish that some appliances worked better. It feels like the shower only has one temperature and the dorm is usually cold. I just wish the temperature correlated to the temperature. When it is hot outside, the heat does not need to be on. When I want to take a nice warm to hot shower, the water should get hotter and not stay at a lukewarm feeling.

It is so far really great. The only two problems are both due to COVID-19 measures so they do not apply to everyone every year. My RA is a bit rude and has stated that she does not want her job and she regrets becoming an RA. However, saying that to her residents seems a bit inappropriate.
