Glenn Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at Georgia Tech

Its... ok. Better than the rest of the freshman dorms, though. I live on the bottom floor and the bathrooms are generally clean. The laundry room occasionally smells rank (gotta do a smell check for every washer and dryer you use or else your clothes will smell REALLY bad). The water pressure for both the sinks and the showers are really weird. There's one sink that only produces a dribble of water while the other sinks have an ULTRA high water pressure. Same with the showers. The rooms themself are ok. The floors are carpeted... which is kind of gross when you think about what college students do. The rooms are also pretty small, but the furniture's nice. However, out of the other options on East Campus (besides Towers which is practically the same as Glenn), it is SO much nicer.

The community aspect is not as good as it is in other dorms but what Glenn lacks in people it makes up for in the amenities. The bathrooms and showers are a million times better than other dorms. The rooms are also very nice and clean. Very little mold, dust, or allergy issues.

Glenn is definitely the best freshman dorm hall to get into at Georgia Tech. Almost every friend I have made at Tech thus far is someone who lives on my floor. Since these are typically regarded as the best dorms, most of the smartest kids in your class try to get into this dorm as well. Everyone who lives here is super friendly and down-to-earth, it is almost like joining a frat to make friends except without all the drawbacks of a frat (Glenn Floor 2 is superior!). Seriously though, I had kids I barely knew at the beginning of the semester that would sit down with me for hours to help me out in classes that I was not easily understanding. Not to mention, all of the Stamp Scholars (the geniuses who managed to get full-rides to Tech) mostly reside in Glenn, so you will definitely have no shortage of smart people to befriend. I would definitely recommend this residence hall to any prospective student at Georgia Tech.

All in all, a great dorm. There are some problems with the heating and cooling system that you have to constantly bug maintenance about. Besides that, the bathrooms are quite nice and each floor has its own kitchen and laundry units.
