Macy Hall Dorm Reviews at George Fox

So far, my experience in Macy 3 has been great. There have been no major issues so far. The only thing that I would change is the bathroom showers. They are small and difficult to shower in. Other than that, everything is great.

Macy hall is a very roomy and homey feeling dorm. Being a female only dorm makes it extremely comfortable for the residents. The bathrooms are clean and the rooms are spacey. Overall, I am very excited to live in Macy hall.

First of all, the people are nice, kind and very understanding. However, the environment is not so great. We have this very creaky floor, dirty bathroom (shower and toilet), and last but not least, the washing machine. I am happy that they gave us a free $50 worth card to do laundry but the dryer suck! They came out undry sometimes, and also full of the fur of dust on the clothes. It's like we didn't even wash our clothes or something.

I am a freshman in Macy's hall, and I am not very impressed with it. I love the staff, and the people in my dorm. But sadly, the dorm itself is ran down, and between washer machines smoking and drains getting clogged, the dorm is an ok leaving place. Macy's dorm is connected to two other dorms by a underground tunnel, but not many people are allowed to go down there. In my room, the dressers aren't on the wall very well, and the mirror was broken since day one. I do enjoy being near the flowers, and the sun helps my own grow well. But we are so close to the volleyball court, that some night I would be up late on test nights, because others are still playing. I have enjoyed it though, Macy has allowed me to grow and have a better understanding of how college is meant to be.

It's really hard to sleep without sounds from upstairs. Due to the thin layer of the floor, It is very easy to hear the sounds from the movements such as jumping, walking, running, and from talking. The carpets look old so I keep getting new pimples whenever I come back to dorm from home. On the other hands, the staffs are nice. Particularly, my resident assistant (RA) always cares about each of us, and always reach out to us for how are we doing. Overall, people in Macy's Hall are really nice and friendly. However, I would like to live in another hall that is better and pay the same amount out of pocket.
