Windward Commons Dorm Reviews at Georgia Southern

My stay at windward commons was during the pandemic of 2020. The dorm I stayed in was a semi private (there was a wall that separated me and my roommate) 1 bath dorm. The dorm was pretty spacious, and the floor I stayed on was clean. The commons area was closed because of the pandemic, but it looked well stocked. The building is about a 5-10 minute walk to the dining hall and about 10-15 minutes from the rec area so it was not badly placed. The only qualm is that the campus is pretty open so anyone can come, but you need a key to enter into the building. Mail is received downstairs in the lobby. Laundry machines are provided at no extra cost, but I am sure you need to bring your own detergent. I hope this helps!

My experience at Windward Commons was very cozy and charming! It really made me love dorm life and living in a community living space. I lived in the dorms during the Fall semester of 2020, in a private 2-bedroom dorm with a roommate. The rooms were very well made and it was like having a small, personal apartment. Perfect for first years.

Everyone is friendly, usually someone's cooking in one or both of the kitchens (which is well appreciated), and overall the location is great. Being really close to the dining hall, the gym, and my classes makes life a lot easier than it would if I had to drive around everywhere, plus now I know the campus better from walking around so much.

Windward is quiet and ideal for studying. The building is kept very clean with a variety of accommodations. Some of these accommodations include: - A full bathroom in every room - A microwave and mini-fridge in every room - A computer station equipped with a computer in every hall -A entertainment/study room in every hall

it's very quiet on the third floor where I stay you don't hear too much notice other than music playing from people's room at night or during the day, but you only hear it when you leave your room so it's fine. other than that its very clean and maintains is usually cleaning something every morning or every other morning

The building as a whole was very clean and the students were not loud in the middle of the night. I wasn't really able to use the common areas because of COVID-19, however, you could ask the front desk to utilize it for a period of time with limited people.

Have had black mold in bathroom all year, maintenance never came, other than that really nice. No co-ed bathrooms, and can choose from 1 roommate or none. With a roommate you can have separate bedrooms or you can have them connecting with a half wall

Staying at Windward Commons makes me feel safe as a freshman. Before I came here I did not have high expectations but the moment I saw the building and dorms I was fascinated. It is easy to make friends and the staff are always ready to help. Staying in Windward Commons is so enjoyable and I love every part of it. If anyone wants to stay at Windward you will not regret it.
