Downhour Hall Dorm Reviews at Hocking

Not the worse but definitely needs upgraded. The equipment is almost all faulty. From fire alarms going of for no reason to the AC's or fridges not getting to temperature. The rooms themselves aren't too bad. Pretty sturdy furniture and everything. The locks on the front doors will unlock allowing anyone inside and the students themselves treat the dorm like a dump. Leaving messes which rarely if ever get cleaned up. Barely any sort of maintanence is done in the hallways and the trash/recycling is always full and rarely taken out.

Downhour Hall is a fairly quiet dorm with study rooms, free laundry departments, and courteous RAs. The dorms typically have a great view of campus and are conveniently close to the cafeteria. My only complaint is that the elevator often went out of order but was typically fixed within a couple days max. Plenty of furniture is provided as well as high speed internet.

I am a first year student at Hocking college and this is my first "home" away from my house. The dorm is nice and when things break the maintenance crew seems to be right on it. Overall I am pretty happy about my dorm and roommate.

My experience here has overall been okay. The biggest negative is that my bike was stolen from the bike rack right by the front doors. It was locked to the rack. There are no cameras around that area, and the campus police station is literally right next to the dorms. Other than that though, it has been fine.
