Lyon Hall Dorm Reviews at ISU

I loved it there. I made so many friends and enjoyed my space with my roommate, which overall boosted my freshman experience at Iowa State University. The RA's were super nice and everyone there was so welcoming. It was Co-Ed, which is my only grievance, but it still made it a fun time.

I loved the small community feel. I originally started at Friley Hall which is very large and you can easily got lost in but Lyon was much better. And it is close to three bus stops. However, you cannot use the elevator.

Lyon Hall, despite it having no a/c, is an awesome hall to live in! It is big enough that there is an awesome community within each house but is small enough that you can never get lost. Additionally, our bathrooms are very nice! We have 3 bathroom stalls and 3 shower stalls. Our shower stalls also have actual doors and not divided by shower curtains or your average stall doors. In Roberts hall, which is conveniently right across from Lyon, is where the mailroom and a usable kitchenette is located. Lyon also is only a 5-minute walk from central campus with a bus stop right across the street. We have 2 dining centers nearby, conversations at Oak/Elm and Seasons which is at Maple/Willow/Larch complex. Lyon is also about a 5-minute walk from Memorial Union which also has a variety of places you are able to eat at as well.
