Eagle Hall Dorm Reviews at James Madison

The hall itself is fine, nothing supper special. It serves its purpose, nothing more, nothing less. The people are super nice. I would probably try to find nicer housing accommodations if i could, but if its your only choice you'll define

Everyone in the hall was friendly and welcoming. You made great bonds with everyone on your floor and got to meet new people in the building overall. The building was always clean and it was quiet most of the time.

Eagle Hall is one of the older residence halls at JMU, so as a result, the hall has an outdated and basic foundation. There is also no air conditioning, which can be really difficult to deal with. It’s a very standard living place, that while is sustainable, still needs a few updates like the lighting in the dorms or the flooring/carpet. The location of Eagle Hall is pretty beneficial, though, since the Dining Hall, Bookstore, Bus Station, Mail box center and stadium are only a couple of distances to walk to, so very convenient!

It isn't a terrible place to live but the rooms are small. It also does not have air conditioning so it gets very hot during warmer months. I would recommend somewhere else to live if possible but if you end up in eagle its not that bad.

The building is really nice and the floors are pretty quiet and they did a lot to ensure our safety during this pandemic by cleaning thoroughly and it was overall great. We have our own separate bathrooms which is a super plus and the security is great.

Eagle Hall definitely has its downsides. There's no AC, the bathrooms are gross with short stalls that most people can see over, and it's one of the oldest dorms. The appliances are outdated, and the elevators don't always work. I feel bad for anyone who lives on the top floors. While the dorm isn't terrible, I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a top choice. If you get stuck in Eagle, you'll survive. I would say that its main perk is location. It is right next to the Starbucks truck, has a lake view, and not too far from UREC. It isn't the best dorm, but so many of us have survived. And once you're there, it kind of grows on you.

The rooms were very small, the internet wasn't good and the people were obnoxiously loud most of the time. The only things that I truly liked about being in Eagle was the fact that it is located very close to one of the dining halls and also the campus UREC, so getting around was very easy.

Eagle was clean and close to both the rec and dinning hall. The rooms are rather spacious and have really high ceilings so if your bed is lofted you don't hit your head. The bathrooms are also super nice size and clean.

Eagle is one of the nicest dorms on campus and I would definitely call it a privilege to stay here! It's fairly central so it's not too hard to get to classes on time. But it's also not so central that there is constant traffic and noise from people. The bathroom situation is very nice, you only have to share between two rooms, so there is a maximum of 6 people using one bathroom. There is AC and carpet in the rooms, and the rooms are nice and spacious so it doesn't feel suffocating to stay in the dorm room for longer periods of time. Overall Eagle Hall is a very nice dorm and I would recommend it to any student planning on staying in the dorms on campus!
