Herman & Heddy Kurz Hall Dorm Reviews at U of L

I had a great time in Kurz Hall! The location is near the SRC and the dining halls, which makes it a very convenient place to live. There is parking right outside the building. The suite-style rooms are private and spacious. In my opinion, it is one of the best residence halls on campus!

So far my experience at Kurz Hall has been a positive one. The building is fairly new, so all of the amenities are quite clean and well-maintained. The room size is very comfortable, and having the sink and bathroom in-suite is a huge plus.

The living conditions are great, very clean, and well-kept. The closets are large for a dorm and the bathroom is very up to date. The conditions are almost apartment style. I have no complaints so far.

Kurz hall is in the perfect location for U of L students, as it is just a short walk to the main campus and surrounded by plenty of good restaurants and the off-campus bookstore. You also have the added bonus of having "suite mates", so you can choose to live with all of your closest friends and avoid having the awkward random roommate assignment. You also share your own bathroom and shower with your suite mates, which beats having to share with an entire floor of other residents!

It was my first year of college. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. There are some minor things wrong with my dorm. Closet door is hard to open and close, and the door stop fell off of the wall. But other than that I really enjoy staying here.

I moved in during the COVID-19 pandemic, so there are some things I have not done such as use common spaces or had more than 2 people in my dorm. However, not having community bathrooms is nice. If I could pick a different room, I would pick a corner room on the first floor.
