Porter Hall Dorm Reviews at Mercer

Absolutely awful. Is the reason I will NEVER live in a dorm every again. Our HVAC unit grew black mold in it. The whole place is just gross for how expensive it is. In my opinion, if you’re gonna spend a significant amount in housing on campus then it should be nicer than this building.

the rooms were extremely small; so small that my roommate and I had to bunk our beds and could not fit any chairs beyond the one that was included. The bathrooms were suite-style and were disgusting. They needed renovations desperately as the shower didn't work properly. There were cockroaches and rats as well. The only redeeming quality about Porter Hall is its close proximity to many freshman class buildings.

Porter hall is one of the best freshman Dorms on campus, It is truly a good way to immerse yourself in campus activities and campus life, otherwise, I would recommend moving into the University apartments as soon as you get the chance.
