Hecht Residential College Dorm Reviews at University of Miami

The dorms were traditional college dorms with minimal amenities. I think all college freshman should experience this type of environment. I am fortunately not entitled with a lavish home or palatial properties so this was well suited for a blue collar kid trying to make it in the world of medicine at UMIAMI. My time at hecht has been more influenced by my peers and fellow residents than the actions quality of the building and staff. The building is pretty well kept and the bathrooms are cleaned every morning.

Hecht is an old building with poor ventilation. There was a lot of black mold to the point that one of my peers with asthma was hospitalized due to exposure to the irritant. The small, poorly designed rooms made living there depressing.

I love living in Hecht Residential College. At first I was concerned about the communal bathrooms but it was always kept cleaned and I really appreciated that. The staff at the front desk are really great and always willing to lend a helping hand. I would definitely recommend Hecht to incoming freshmen.

Hecht gives you the perfect first year college experience. Meeting new friends is so easy with the communal bathrooms and the common areas that are always fun to hang out in. Everything is cleaned daily.
