Morningside College Dorm Reviews

Dimmit is very accommodating for student-athletes. It is right beside the gym and the football stadium. Its about an 8 min walk to the farthest building for classes, and a 4 min walk to the cafeteria. more

It's a bit of a walk to the main campus area, which isn't great during the winter months. The noises level is what you would expect for a college dorm, and really isn't horrible. Other than that, it's always clean which is the biggest thing I really look for. more

I quite enjoy Roadman Hall. Its right in the middle of campus so there is no incredibly long or inconvenient walking. Roadman North Is also cheaper which is nice if you can't afford rooms in the Plex or Dimmit. The maintenance and staff are all really nice. Each hall has its own RA's and they do a very good job of bringing us together like a little family. I did think it was kind of weird that none of the dorms are the same size. My own dorm is very small especially for two people and some of the rooms down the hall are very big. Thats definitely very inconvenient for most people. The lounge areas are nice and good for social distancing. The only critique I really have is the dorm sizes, everything else is very nice and clean and cozy. more

I was able to choose my roommates for the house of Garretson 3800. We have been able to create such different relationships than we could in a dorm. The house we live in has really made my experience at Morningside feel more like a home. I feel more like an adult and I have learned how to cook for myself and keep things clean for the sake of others. more

it was good dorm place to stay 100% recomend staying in this hall over all of them this way more people can know how good roadman hall if a Morningside University. This dorm is special on your first day at Morningside. more

Waitt is an on-campus apartment, where there are 8 person apartments and 6 person apartments. I am currently living in an 8 person apartment, where there are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchenette. It is in a good location in between the stadium and the rest of the campus, so it's not too far of a walk when trying to get anywhere. Outside of Waitt, there is a courtyard with lots of grass where people can go to just hang out or to play yard games. Waitt also has an outside seating area, where there is plenty of tables and chairs and even a grill for when the weather is nice. I love living in Waitt because it is not very big, and not a lot of people live here, so it is always quiet and a place where I can get my homework done, or do my laundry without having to worry about all the washers being taken. The bathrooms are really nice and big, where each bathroom as two sinks, along with the toilet and shower, and plenty of hooks and racks for putting towels and robes. The bedrooms come with two lofted beds, two dressers, and two desks, along with a big closet with plenty of shelving and room. The beds can be delofted and the rooms aren't super big, but big enough to be able to rearrange the room a little bit. The living room comes with a couch, 2 chairs, and a coffee table. It can easily fit multiple couches in there, along with other furniture and it is perfect for just hanging out, doing homework, or watching movies. The kitchenette, has a full-sized fridge, microwave, sink, and plenty of cabinets and storage space. It also comes with a table and chairs to sit at. Outside of the rooms, there is a laundry room and a study room. I personally like the study room and use it a lot because it is a nice quiet place to go when my roommate might want to be watching TV or doing something in the room that could disturb me. Overall, my experience at Waitt so far has been great, and I really enjoy it. It is in a good location, a very quiet hall, and has great living space and resources available for the students and residents who live here. more

This experience has opened me up to new people that I wouldn't have considered my friends. I would relate my academic success to being in Poppen. I could have the quietness I needed to study and do homework all while being in my room. more
