MacDonald Hall Dorm Reviews at MVC

The dorm room and building itself is pretty great. Some of the bathrooms need some updating as well as the ac units and heaters. Sometimes our personal bathroom has water leaking from the shower above us but we did get it fix.

Depending on what floor you are on changes the cleanliness and noise level of the dorm. For the most part, my hall is fairly quite and clean. The cleaning staff is very sweet and do a great job of making sure the building is clean, but some students don't do their part to keep up. On top of this, I wouldn't say that it's the safest dorm to live in considering that people leave the main doors cracked, so anyone can come in, and there are several boys that have dorms in the basement. We also haven't been able to use the common room for several months, not that it's up to date. With the age of the dorm, many things break all the time. Maintenance has yet to put a door handle on one of the entrances and showers aren't the best. The location is fabulous, you are right next to the cafeteria and in the middle of campus; roughly a three minute walk from nearly all classes. Over all, most problems with MacDonald Hall stems from the age of the building, lack of updating, or students not taking care of the dorms.

i hated living there it was always so dirty and the washing machines never worked and the dryers never worked. cause have anyone over and for everything little thing that happened we were charged i wouldn’t want to live there again

My time in MacDonald hall has been alright other than the showers inefficiency and washer and dryers that also break down. The dorm is for the most part very quiet and easy to get around in. The dorm is a safe place for almost anyone.
