Niskanen is an alright place for students who need housing. The units were spacious and roomy, but the maintenance of the place is not very good. I had several things that were broken the moment I moved in. The staff also were not very helpful. I put in a maintenance request and it somehow got lost to the staff, so it was never reported and then I had to wait another week when my freezer was completely broken and all my frozen foods thawed out. The area is also not close to campus at all. You'll be living on the bus basically, especially in the winter. The area in general did not feel very safe. We had several homeless people who would wander into the bus stop and there also were two car thefts from the parking lot within the year of living there.
