Great Plains West Dorm Reviews at NSU

It is a great place to stay for your years at Northern! Great Plains West is modern, close to any on campus classes, and has a friendly atmosphere that is welcoming to all. With included study rooms, kitchens on each floor, and spacious lounge areas, West has a very homey environment!

Great Plains West is a really good suite style dorm on campus, just built a few years back— so it is new and nice looking. The rooms are a decent size as well, each suite having their own bathroom. On each floor there is a kitchen (with a sink, oven, and microwave) and a laundry room.

GPW was an amazing dorm to stay in. The dorm is co-Ed so you have a chance to meet all kinds of people. In our dorm each of us has our own bathroom and shower in our suites, which is handy when you have to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We even have these amazing study rooms with white boards and a big table with Rollie chairs so many people can be in there at once. Everyone is super friendly and I happily stayed in Great Plains West for both my freshman and sophomore years.

I lived in a two bedroom suite with a built-in living room personal bathroom with our own shower and mini kitchen area. The rooms have very high ceilings which helped create more space, and the clothes size is medium to small, but they come with a 2 door dresser. The staff that worked at great Plains West was very kind, and the RA on our floor but always bring treats every week! There are two study areas on each floor which are very well-kept, however. The walls can be very thin and sometimes you can hear what other people are doing, if they are yelling or playing loud music.

It's a super nice dorm. It's very clean, very safe, and the rooms are pretty large for a college dorm. The suite style rooms are very nice and easy to maintain. I like living in great plains west a lot.

My experience at Great Plaines West has been nothing but amazing. I have thoroughly enjoyed the residence hall, especially the amenities available within the building. There are so many great study areas within the building and I have really enjoyed the fully upgraded kitchen on each floor of the building. The community within the hall is amazing because most of the students living here are athletes like myself. There are also a number of common areas that are great for watching movies, football games, or just hanging out with new people. The hall is also kept very clean and the staff are very helpful. Overall, my experience in this residence hall has been amazing and I would definitely choose this hall for following semesters.
