Gresham Hall Main Dorm Reviews at Old Dominion

Gresham Main was actually a pretty good dorm as a freshman ,it was clean the staff and RAs were helpful and I met a lot of freshman . However, I did not like how it was about a block away from the main part of campus where all of my classes were located and the block it was on was kinda of dangerous.

It was away from campus and made making friends a bit harder but it was a nice experience for my first year away from home. It was close to many of the restaurants near campus so that made up for all the walking I had to do.

Gresham low key sucked. The people sucked. There wasn't a lot of engagement to get the residents to know each other. RAs did not enforce quiet hours, which made studying a hassle. People were shitty about doing laundry.

Living on campus at Old Dominion University specifically in Gresham main was great. I enjoyed having a bathroom that was only shared between myself and my suitemates. Because communal bathrooms scare me. Due to covid-19, I was not able to entirely use the lounge that is provided. But residences do have access to a stove and oven for personal use which was pretty neat. I highly recommend this dorm it was fun to stay in.

I really enjoyed this dorm, the RA was respectful and kind. He helped me a lot with classes, I would definitely stay there again. I was close enough to the Monarch Main Food Section so we were able to take late night trips to get food and other things. We also so close to the library and campus able to keep up with campus life as well as enjoy life on my own.

Gresham Hall Main is further away from the other buildings but is a great location for art students. The location is quiet due to being further away from other parts of campus. It is not too far away so it takes longer to get places on campus but is still a decent walking distance.

My first week staying at the Gresham Hall at ODU was full of unexpected guest. We had several critters hanging out in our personal restroom. The next week I woke up to the sound of my frightened roommate. I crawled out of bed and went into the bathroom to see yellow liquid pouring from the ceiling vent. Every night the room is covered in a blanket of dust since the vents of the building have not been cleaned since the 1960s. The locks are broken. The toilet was broken. The light switch would not turn on for a whole two days in the bathroom causing us to shower in the dark. The list goes on... Go Monarchs!
