Walker Hall Dorm Reviews at OCU

It is a freshman dorm, so everyone there is just trying to figure college out. It's one of two freshman dorms, but compared to the upperclassmen dorms it is much worse. It's an old building and half of it is the original building and half is renovated. I believe that out of the two freshman dorms Walker is the better, it has some privacy but still throws you in with everyone around you.

This was my original freshman dorm and I made so many memories here. I loved that each floor had it's own common space so you really could spend time getting to know the people that lived around you. Also having suite style rooms with our own bathrooms was so nice compared to communal bathrooms. Honestly loved Walker Hall and had the best of times there.

Ive had a great time in this dorm! Very clean if you take care of it and everything works the way it should! I think the best part is that you have a wall separating you from your roomate, so it gives you a little bit more privacy than a traditional dorm!

The experience overall was mediocre. It was not very quiet and sometimes it was difficult to focus on class work because of the excessive amount of noise. I struggled with relationships so I felt alone most days.

I have loved my time in Walker Hall. I am currently in the renovated rooms; however there are un-renovated as well. I feel like I am in a hotel bathroom with how modern and easy it is to use and keep clean. I also love the privacy it allows you to have with all of the rooms being in a cubby type layout. You never feel alone with your roommate so close, yet you have the space to feel like you can have alone time as well. I highly recommend this living space to anyone who may be concerned with the traditional open living spaces most dorms have.
