Dunlap-King Hall Dorm Reviews at Otterbein

DK is a very accepting place. While I was there, I always felt safe and comfortable. My gender identity and the identity of other transgender people in the dorm hall was always respected. DK respected my request, as a trans man, to be placed on the male floor with another trans male roommate.

It was an amazing group for music, art, theatre, people and for those in the LGBTQIA+ community. The lounge is small, but super artsy with paintings on the walls, a piano, and some couches. Everything in the building is super old and outdated though. I guess the donors don't want them to make changes to the building. The laundry room floods everytime you use a washer, the lobby pools with water everytime it rains, it is HOT and has no airconditioning, however the bathrooms are pretty decent. The community makes up for it being outdated. The communal kitchen is nice. I like they you have to swipe into each floor so random people can't get to your floor. It is nice being so close to science, music, and towers, but the walk to the campus center for food is farther. It is a small campus so it's not that far of a walk. The dorm is beside Alum Creek Park and ampitheatre on one side, and the quad on the other. I love DK!!!
