Tingelstad Hall Dorm Reviews at PLU

My experience has been really good with the people and RAs. Building is really cool, and I like all the floors. Could use better maintenance of showers and stalls. I also am not a fan of the area for safety reasons. Would love a fenced in lot for my car.

I thought it was a really nice dorm. It is obviously not state of the art, super modern, and updated but it is a very nice and comfortable dorm to live in! You have to swipe in and out to enter and exit the building which is good for safety. The furniture they give you is nice and the room size is good as well.

I enjoyed tingelstad overall other than the fact that the only washers and dryers are on the first floor and the elevator was broken often. There was one incident where a group of people snuck in to the building and were asking residents to take them to a party. There are very nice study rooms that cancel noise but having to do laundry when you live on the ninth floor is not very convenient. It is definitely the best dorm at PLU.

My experience at Tingelstad hall had been wonderful. Though the Covid 19 virus changed how I expected my first year of college to go, the staff and student have all been welcoming and kind. The RA’s are constantly trying to plan fun activities for residents to engage with one another. It is a good environment and community.

Tingelstad is a dorm that is occupied mostly by student-athletes, or students who tend to have lots of activities on lower campus. It's fairly loud towards the top levels with first-year students, but there is great opportunity for socializing. The elevators sometimes break and you have to take the stairs, which could be up to 8 floors of climbing. The bathrooms are kept nice, but it kind of depends on which floor you're on. I loved the culture in this dorm, although it was a bit annoying to have to walk to upper campus for most of my gen-ed classes. However, it was worth it because I was closer to my sports facilities and my upper-division science classes.
