Tinglestad Hall Dorm Reviews at PLU

I arrived early for football. The biggest complaint would be the bathroom cleaning. Other than that it’s great. The RA for my floor is great and easy to get along with. I recommend lower campus to any first years.

I have made a bunch of new friends through my hall. The RA’s at Tinglestad had amazing events such as horror movie night during Halloween, and a football party for the Super Bowl. I have stayed in close contact with my friends I have made.

I definitely thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Tinglestad Hall. I spent 3 semesters in total in the dorm building. The community at Tinglestad really fit into my interests and provided me with some amazing friends. Most of the people in T stad are viewed as more sport and STEM oriented so that was helpful in connecting with people. However, most of the time the dorm building was consistently noisy, but the RAs helped with regulating the sound if it got too loud.

I have loved living in Tinglestad!! Some common area furniture is old and dirty, and the bathrooms get weird smells. Overall, I love the location of the building and the people that live here are super friendly.

I have had a good experience so far. Pacific Lutheran University has taken great precautions with Covid-19. I feel safe from others when living there during this crazy time. We all wear our masks everywhere we go, even to the bathroom. The only downside would be that the rooms are relatively small for two people, however that is to be expected when living in a dorm. Tingelstad probably has the smallest dorms on campus. The walk to the cafeteria or also known as "the commons" is a short distance, however going to upper campus can be tiring, due to walking up hill. However, if you are an athlete or dancer this is the place to be! Tingelstad is kiddy-corner to the gym and right across the street from the dance center. Tingelstad is one of the bigger dorms, so there are a lot of people to meet and become friends with. There are also quite a few living learning communities, or LLC's as they are more commonly known, such as the lavender community. This is a community for anyone who identifies as part of the lgbtq+ community or is even an ally. It is also gender inclusive which is very welcoming. They also have other LLC's that involve S.T.E.M. Overall, this has been a very positive experience among all that has been going on this year.
