Wiley Hall Dorm Reviews at Purdue

So far I have had good and bad experiences staying in WIley. Being that there is no air conditioning there have been nights where I sleep on the floor in front of the fan because it is so unbearable hot and uncomfortable outside. The windows were kept open 24/7 which was not something that residents could close whenever they wanted to, but now that it is getting colder the windows are shut and luckily there is heat in the building. I have seen worse dorms, but it is clear that Wiley is one of the older ones. The bathrooms are not disgusting but there is rust on everything.

Wiley hall is good for the most part, however it is a bit of a struggle because there is no air conditioning. The bathrooms are not always the cleanest either, although I have seen worse elsewhere. All I’m gonna say is it could be worse.

It seemed like a typical dorm experience. Most of the dorms are doubles, but some are converted triples. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but there is air conditioning in the lobby, which was nice.

While Wiley is conveniently located for Pharmacy and Computer Science majors at Purdue, there is no A/C or elevator. If you live near a staircase, you will be subject to the pounding of feet as people come up and down to their dorms. Once during my stay here, the shower water turned brown while a bunch of us were showering due to issues with the pipes.

Wiley Hall is extremely old and run down. There is no air conditioning and it gets extremely hot during the first and last few months. It is always extremely dirty and the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. It switches between being a girls dorm and a boys dorm each year so you never know what you'll get from the people who used to live in your room. The paint on the walls always chips so pictures and decorations are constantly falling off the walls and there is virtually nothing safe about Wiley Hall. I would absolutely not recommend.

Wiley Hall is a great place to get to know new people. Most people keep their doors open and the RA's do a good job providing opportunities to get to know other residents. The best part about it, however, is its location. It is across the street from the gym and next to the Wiley Dining Court.

I've been in this dorm for two years. The space is sufficient, the amenities are well taken care of and I feel safe here. I especially love the location: a 10 minute walk from campus and near gym too.

Everything in the hall was decent but the building itself is very old and rundown like. The heater in my room would make random loud noises at any time which is really inconvenient when you're in a deep sleep. The bathrooms sometimes had a ton of bugs in them which was obviously not great, but overall it was fairly clean. Nevertheless, the basement was a calming place to hangout, though at times gave off a musky odor.

I moved into Wiley hall in August of 2020 and I did not know anyone else on my floor. Within the first three days I knew most people on my floor. My residence assistant set up a lot of things for everyone to do which was a great way to meet everyone. I now have a lot of friends that I hang out with every day and I am very thankful that I got put in Wiley Hall.

Very affordable housing with one of the best residence hall placements on campus. The lack of AC is only an issue for about the first two weeks in the fall semesters, and the other residents have never caused any problems in the almost two years I've lived there.

Wiley Hall has been a great experience is far. Many of the peers on my floor are in similar majors and get along very well doing many fun activities together. We have even started a floor nerf war that you obviously don't have to participate in if you don't want to and we have a floor Minecraft server.

I've lived in Wiley Hall for my freshman and sophomore years at Purdue. It is known for not having A/C but that is only a problem for the first month of school. I would say that for being the cheapest housing option, it has many upsides. Its location is great, it's next to a dining hall and gym while being within 5 minutes of academic campus.

We had a great floor of girls, but we only had one shower that worked for 12 girls! The janitors also never cleaned the bathroom, the floors were always in bad condition. I will say that our dorms were nicer compared to other rooms but we also had no air conditioning which sucked!

My time at Wiley was great! It was the perfect location being less than a minute from the Gym, dining hall, stores, and the library. Additionally, the dorm has plenty of parking around for cars as well. The only negative was that there was no AC in the rooms.

Weather is painful in the beginning and end of the schoolyear, but between those times, it's fine. Rooms are decently spaceous. The prime location, close to dining courts and academic campus is its main selling point.
