Chatham Dorm Reviews at SCAD

Chatham is the best dorm you can get, especially as a freshman. Now I may be a freshman and I haven't seen many of the other dorms but hear me out. Most dorms are on the outskirts of where classes are, which makes you more reliant on the buses, but Chatham is in the center of everything. You can pretty much walk to majority of your classes. You are right next to Forsyth Park where there are frequent events, you get convenient access to some of the better food on campus, and some of the dorms have multiple bathrooms. Only drawbacks are that The Hive is where most freshman are at, as well as a lot of events. Being at Chatham can be a little isolating. You can casually hangout around the Hive at night because it's safe, but at Chatham, once you're outside, you're on the street. The Hive dorms also have nice common spaces on the bottom floor with TV's, consoles and art tablets. Chatham only has a seating area used mostly for eating. Pro tip, if you can avoid getting a Turner dorm, DO IT.

I think it's a nice dorm for freshmen to live in. Being close to Forsyth Park is really nice since it's around the corner. The grocery store is also in walking distance. While the location is pretty alright, it's a little inconvenient as a graphic design major.

Chatam was a great dorm for any first year and even after I would have most definitely stayed there if I didn't have to dorm with another person but the dorms themselves are suite style and so there is a living room with a kitchen sink and then shelving along with the bathrooms I did get the luxury of two bathrooms and they were very spacious and the rooms as well and no matter what way you are facing you get an amazing view.
