Myers Hall Dorm Reviews at Southeast

It is very nice having a bedroom to myself since it gives me anxiety sleeping in the same room as someone else. Everyone has been pretty quiet during after hours and the people here are very friendly. However, since this is an old building, there's a few problems such as the small scuffs on the floor and counters and the air conditioner does not cool the room very well. I do like where the location of the hall is because it is near everything and I also love having my own bathroom.

Myers Hall is a decent dorm hall. It’s Location is amazing to me. It’s right down the street from the University Center and has the easiest route to the Academic Hall. The University Center is where I go to eat and where many campus events take place, it’s also the base of a program I’m a part of. It’s been great to have such an important location in walking distance. The front of Myers is also a stop on the Shuttle route, so there’s still little issue in getting classes that may be further away. However, Myers still has some major flaws as a dorm hall.When I first started staying in Myers, the toilet in my dorm couldn't flush correctly. It took between three to ten flushes for the toilet to drain completely. I’ve heard that other students have had this problem as well. This issue wasn’t fixed until winter break. As of now, the toilet works fine. However, a new problem arose after coming back from winter break. All of a sudden, people started having parties and meetups late on random nights, and they were obnoxiously loud. You could hear girls laughing and running through the hall, sometimes they would argue and get ready to fight, all while everyone else was trying to sleep. Thankfully these are rare occurrences and typically happen on Friday nights or holidays. Other than this, I haven’t had any major issue with Myers. It’s a pet friendly dorm, so you may see some students with their pets around. Myers isn’t perfect, but it’s been fine for me.

Myers was quiet and clean always. It was out of the way of common tracks through campus which allowed safety. There was a diverse group of students that lived there. I lived on a floor with mainly boys, but my suite was girls. We lived the floor above the football players. It's close to two dining halls and close to the library.
