University Park South Dorm Reviews at SF State

The townhouse my roommates and I currently reside in is beautiful, but it has it's flaws. I feel as though that I cannot fully express myself because of how strict the RAs are about being quiet. I love to play music, and I usually don't even have it that loud, but they are constantly bothering me about the volume. I understand the area is usually for quiet residents but if I had known that I most likely would not have resided here. In one instance, my roommate and I were laughing a bunch at about 5 pm and the RA came aggressively knocking at the door and told us to quiet down and that they could hear us laughing. At that point, I just feel like behavior like that is excessive. Other than that, I do find the house to be adorable and spacious. It fits me and my roommates so well. I love the bathroom color and our closet space but the only thing I have complains about would be the way they carpeted the staircase.

The houses are like townhouse style however people who aren't part of the university also live in UPS. Through a certain app, I identified a number of predators living near me, which is unsafe. The police and times usually at night do not pick up the phone which makes going out of the house at night scary.

I really loved the location of the dorms because it was right off the freeway. The dorms were just like apartments makes you feel like home. The laundry room was occupied most of the time but it was good walking distance from the dorm. The parking spots were a little more of a walk.

At SFSU I lived in the towers, University Park South, and University Park North. While the towers were the most convenient, I most loved my University Park South dorms. The UPS dorms were much older than the towers, but for that trade off you get extra space, a sunny courtyard, and a more private laundry room. These dorms are 2-story apartments which SFSU owns. The downstairs features a full kitchen, dining room, and living room, while the upstairs houses bedrooms and bathrooms. There are multiple layouts depending on how many individuals live in your dorm, but all of the dorms here are quite comfortable. They are the ideal living arrangement for older SFSU students who would like more privacy, or who are more introverted.

University Park south was pretty great overall, I think the maintenance could've been better but overall I enjoyed residing there. I really appreciated the orientation as well as free breakfast we recieved on the first day of school.
