Disregarding a few of my ratings, I do wholeheartedly believe there is something deeply special about the dorm. Being in such close proximity with so many different personalities and helpful people made for such beautiful community. It is comforting knowing I have great friends one flight away, trusted staff that I can go to 24/7 and people I maybe do not know that I can still count on for different things. The building definitely gives that old school feeling, when I had first arrived and I felt like the building was very outdated, as time went by it was the individuality and commotion of us girls that made it modern and brung the dorm to life. All the bad things seemed not as bad compared to something so great. We made best with what we had and by the end of my freshman year, I very devastated to leave my dorm that I felt had been through so much with me, and the thought of receiving a whole new room on a whole new floor was a little sad to me. Maybe it is the sentiment in me or the years of historical rich air flowing through the halls but despite all the improvements that can be made, the dorm still feels special and made a big impression on a young girls lives at shaw.

When I attended this university, there was only one dorm for women. The elevator would break down and I (we) would have to walk up nine flights of stairs. The bathrooms were not the cleanest, but the dorm rooms were okay.
