Davis Hall Dorm Reviews at Stevens

Overall an okay experience. Nothing special, the common area was small and typically had a few people. I never went into the communal kitchen, but some friends said it was questionable. Trash piled up quickly, with them being located nearby the central staircase, thus it was pretty dirty if people did not put in the effort to put their trash in the cans. Toilet paper ran out quick and took a while to get refilled, and the showers on my floor (men) were pretty dirty. People left behind items in the showers such as soap, towels, and clothing for weeks without them being removed. The one good thing is that Davis is closer to all of the academic buildings then the other dorms, some being right across the street.

I am a first year so I don't know how the rest of the school year would be. However, I can assure any upcoming students who are planning to dorm at Stevens can be satisfied with living in Davis Hall. The bathrooms are clean and the staff in Davis Hall are really chill and don't mind it getting a little crazy or have big gatherings.

Best on campus dorm option. the first floor can get a bit noisy because thats where the kitchen and free space is, but all other floors are clean and quite. theres no elevator, but there are stairless entrances on the second and first floors, so at most there will only be 2 flights of stairs to go up.

I've heard from others that this dorm was bad, but I didn't have too many problems living here. There are centipedes and other bugs but you can just kill them. The bathrooms are okay and fairly new. The room is good.

Staying in Davis is actually pretty nice considering it is the least expensive dorm here at Stevens. My room itself faces the waterfront of the Hudson so the view is wonderful and makes it worth bearing with communal bathrooms, but even then the bathrooms are very clean. Also the school is doing really well with keeping the dorms safe during the pandemic.

Davis hall was very close to the COM, had designated quiet hours, and worked very well for my needs during my first year. As a medical student. I was given a room to myself without a roommate which I really appreciated.

Everyone is nice, the only problem some may have is the fact that there is no AC. Doing laundry there is also not free like they tell you on their website. It's peaceful and quiet and a good study area. You never really know if others can hear you though, and that's a little scary.
