Donovan Hall Dorm Reviews at St. John's

My time in Donovan Hall as a incoming freshman was the best part of college. Being able to dorm and having that chance to be away from home and having the chance to meet new people Donovan Hall gave me that opportunity. It gave us the feel for how to be adults while having fun.

My overall experience at Donovan Hall was good. The rooms aren't the biggest, but it gets the job done. The bathrooms are clean for the most part and nothing ever gets out of control in the halls and etc. The people I met on the hall are good people and staff are chill.

My experience is great, I enjoy the atmosphere, it seems like the staff are here to make me as comfortable as possible in my dorm, I also like the people that I room with, as well as the other people on my floor. My dorm is also next to the stadium so I get a nice view.

I loved staying in Donavan Hall. It is the only housing on campus that offers the traditional dorming experience. I personally loved the jack and jill style bathroom, and the overall set up of the building.

Donovan Hall was a great dorm to live in. It is at the edge of campus so its a bit of a walk to get to your classes (same distance as other freshman dorms) but it is close to the dining hall! It is the only dorm on campus that is set up with two rooms connected by a bathroom. The building is about 20 years old so everything is still fresh and nice. The only issue that I had was when I first moved in they tried to force three people into the room. It was pretty small and could only fit two people (there wasn't even enough space for all our furniture). I suggest to anyone looking to live here to opt for a double NOT TRIPLE. Most of the time people get placed here if they put their deposit down late or couldn't find a roommate online. Most people switch dorms in the first few weeks so, like what happened to me, you will probably end up in a double or single if placed in a triple.

It was ok. Your standard dorm. Nothing special, weird set up. Very quiet dorm, not a lot of fun. If you want to have more fun I would recommend Hollis or DaSilva hall for freshman. Donovan Hall is very quiet.
