The cleanliness of Shade Hall at Southern University leaves much to be desired. The RA's/ambassadors fail to fulfill their responsibilities, treating us more like children than the adults we are. Their communication with us is often disrespectful and overall, my experience in Shade Hall has been far from satisfactory. more

It was 8 girls to on bathroom and mutual area. I met a lot of girls who looked like me but totally different up bringing. I learn communication is key with living with other people and holding them accountable for their cleanliness. The washeteria room and downstairs common area was nice, and plenty of space with enough machines. more

Bradford Hall was pretty good considering it is a communal dorm. The girls are super nice and helpful when needed. Enjoyed my first semester when I was there. Good view and very close to the bluff! The only thing is you have to move out every semester more

Camille Stivers Shade Hall

It is one of the many freshman dorms and it was pretty nice for most of the year. The space was really small for B and C rooms and the A and D rooms are bigger so it was really disproportionate. The bathrooms are shared and they're pretty big. The only thing is they are subject to flooding...a lot. So insurance is definitely something you need to have. A friend of mine experienced her room flooding and the way that was handled was very below standard. It took a while for the maintenance people to get to our suite because the whole thing flooded. The Hall Director seemed to be quite indifferent as well. The Hall is located at the back of the campus but so are most of the dorms, and it's not too far from the academic halls it is just a lot to walk back and forth all the time. Other than that it's a pretty good dorm. It's quite most of the time and the residents are really friendly. more

White Hall Dorm

It was ok but it wasn't a good dorm but i did leaner how to move around campus and get to the building around me and the advisors and I made some very trustworthy friends around me, and I honestly would change anything because I actually learned from it. more
