Parliament Village Dorm Reviews at TWU

Had an incredible time at South Parliament. The RA always host parties, fun meetings and group study sessions. The dorms are really clean and quiet the perfect place to hang out or study. Although it is kinda of a long walk to most locations, it is still a great place to stay for incoming freshman.

My time living in parliament village can be considered an average college dorm experience. The first year student dorms had communal restrooms, but the were typically clean and comfortable. The actual dorm rooms were small, but spacious.

Everything is usually cleaned by the staff, Its just the residents that leave a mess everywhere. Overall I love the common are and the study rooms even have a white board. The rooms already come with a microwave and a refrigerator as well. Parliament village is very up to date and it looks really pretty.

It was alright staying there as a first year student. It was a little far away from the dining hall so walking back and forth was long sometimes. As far as bathrooms, staff did an amazing job as well as other things, but the other people living in the dorm would leave them nasty.

I live on the fourth floor in North, and I really enjoy living here. There isn't much noise around me, at least in my area. The bathrooms are cleaned frequently and the staff are nice; including janitors, maintenance people, and those I've interacted with at the front desk. My RA is very involved and kind, she's given us coloring pages and little self care kits, and the RA from the other side set up an area to de-stress during finals that included encouraging/funny notes and candy. This is the newest residence hall on campus, so everything is very nice. Rooms are smaller than Guinn or Stark and the bathrooms are communal. When we first moved in, there was a leak from the ceiling in our room and they had left a bucket, but it was gone by the end of the week. I've also had spiders coming from the vent above my bed, but so far nothing big or harmful. Laundry is an issue at times, there are only 8 washers for North and everybody always decides to do their laundry at once. Only 7 are working, my roommate tried to use one of the washers within the first week and it refused to work and locked her clothes in for a week. We put in a work order but haven't heard anything about it and it's still out of order. Overall, I enjoy living here. It has its issues, but all are minimal.

South Parliament is relevantly a new building it was finished in 2018. The rooms aren't quite spacious, every room comes with a fridge and microwave and a floor sink with a microwave. The residents are all very sweet as well as our RA's they want to help us with whatever they can even if it's typing an email. The custodians are doing a great job of keeping our bathrooms and commons rooms clean, especially with COVID-19 happening. The hall is about a five to ten-minute walk from every building, everything is within walking distance.

It’s a very accepting community of people and it’s a community that will help out when you need it. If you need something or need to do something but require someone to go with you, someone will always be willing to attend with you!
