Bexar hall was actually not my initial pick, and it is one of Texas State's oldest dorms. The RAs are nice and it is a safe environment. It is kind of far from some of my favorite food places on campus such as Starbucks and Jones Dining Center which has this delicious wing place, Panda Express, a burger joint, and more. This is kind of inconvenient during the weekends because there is no transportation and you are going to have to walk in order to go there, but there is a dining center called Harris Dining, nearby that is good. If you like to workout we are close to the REC, also there is a really good smoothie shake place there. If you have friends in neighboring location such as San Marcos hall, Blanco, and Falls there are really close in distance so that is convenient. Though this is an old dorm, it is pretty spacious compared to younger dorms. There are some downsides for it being old: the outside is not as polished, the air conditioning is not the best and sometimes gets really hot or cold, the walls are really thin, the washer room is too small for the amount of kids that live here, and the shower is pretty small and the water easily gets on the floor. I can attest that whatever problems you have regarding your dorm, maintenance will resolve/help your issue. Like every other dorm there is always a downside, nonetheless Bexar hall is a great community and the RAs make sure of that.
