Riverside West Dorm Reviews at University of Alabama

Very organized in move in, nice size living area kitchen and rooms . Pretty quiet great location plenty of parking , well maintained. Room temperature self controlled and perfect. Excellent covid protocol and makes u feel safe. Regular fire drills also which helps to be prepared. Large dorm but spread out so not crowded at all in elevators or stairs. Perfect location to dining halls and quad and Ferguson, to walk within 20 minutes. I would recommend Riverside East to future incoming freshman. West and North seems the same just a great dorm overall.

Riverside West was a mostly quiet dorm with nice amenities and a good location. However, the common areas were less than desirable and as a result nobody ever hung out around there. Also, the carpeting was not very comfortable to walk around on.

Riverside West was a great first dorm for me. It's close to the heart of the campus and near several food courts and dining halls. I like having my own bedroom but sharing a bathroom and common area with my roommates. It gave me some privacy while still feeling like I was getting the shared dorm room experience.

I have stayed at Riverside West for two years and have enjoyed the ups and downs. This is an older suite styled dorm but still looks nice on the inside due to renovations. It is one of the quieter dorms since it doesn't house as many students as Presidential or have as many sorority as Tutwieler. You will definitely get to know the people on your floor especially if you have an interactive RA. I enjoyed branching out and going to some of the programs that were offered.
