Calhoun Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Cincinnati

Living in Calhoun made 2023 Spring Semester very memorable. They were renovating Siddall Hall and they placed all the previous residents into Calhoun Hall. Also, Calhoun had just been renovated, so we were the first people to live into the new Calhoun. Everything was very nice, and they kept our old floors together. Our floor was perfect, everyone knew each other, and everyone would hang out in the lounges. The new restrooms were great, they were built like little rooms. So, there was plenty of privacy. They cleaned them several times everyday which honestly was a little inconvenient, but it kept the bathrooms very nice. Overall my entire experience at Calhoun was amazing and one I wish I could repeat.

Lived in newly renovated hall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice common and lounge areas. Laundry room sometimes had a wait. Elevators were sometimes down. Very nice view and location of hall.

I've had a great experience at Calhoun. It's in a great location close to food and University activities. It does need updating but that is coming in the near future. Everything is generally pretty clean.

Calhoun hall is a great dorm for first year students. You meet so many new people and become great friends with the people on your floor. It is fairly noisy and often may have to go to the library to study but overall a good experience.

It’s not the most quiet or luxurious dorm on campus, but there’s certainly never a shortage of “social events” going on. Overall, I’d give it a 3.5 stars and if you’re willing to put up with occasional annoyances it’s worth the cheaper price vs newer dorms

It was fun! ...While it lasted. Calhoun Hall has the best residence location on campus, from Calhoun Street being right next to it and having all the good restaurants. Calhoun is by 3 coffee shops and one step away from campus. It was an okay experience. Expect your shower curtain to be pushed open by the wind if someone walks by. But also expect people to come knocking on your door from how social it is! I wouldn't change living there, even though it was kind of grimy. Good luck!
