Thomas McKean Hall Dorm Reviews at Delaware

I loved living at Thomas Mckean Hall. The staff was always helpful and the common areas were always well kept. The safety was rated low because there was an issue where there were not many security cameras outside the hall and random people who were unhoused would come and sleep in the lounges. The location of the hall in relation to classes was quite far, one of the furthest dorms on campus. If you don't mind a nice walk, this is the dorm for you!

It was fun only because of my roommates. No one in the hall talked to each other. Too quiet, far from main campus and main street. Parking lot was a far walk from building. Nice basketball and volleyball courts behind the building.

Thomas McKean is awesome! It's one of the newer dorms, and it shows. Some people might find it annoying that it's located far from the main campus, but I like it that way. There is barely any Greek life around and Pencader is by far the superior dinning hall.

Overall it's been pretty good. While being on North Campus can feel removed at times, it forces you to create a community within the residence hall. Additionally, having Pencader dining hall right there with a P.O.D (Provisions On Demand) has been really helpful when you have to grab food before going to class.

Thomas McKean was a great dorm to live in during my Freshman year at UD. While it was far from classes, I loved my room and the common areas to study. Plus, it is right by the dining hall. Overall, I would recommend it for incoming freshman.

Living at Thomas McKean was a good experience despite the circumstances with COVID-19. The common areas were a great place to meet with friends to work on school work or just hang out. The rooms at Thomas McKean were also a lot bigger than I expected which was great.
