Beaty Towers East Dorm Reviews at University of Florida

RA was super friendly and made sure all students were engaged with campus activities. Maintenance came and cleaned the bathroom once a week. Nice having your own kitchen and shared bathroom vs a communal bathroom.

Beaty Towers East is noticeably older than Beaty Towers West, but same great staff and dormitory life. If there is a fire, firefighters are there on the spot (someone always manages to burn something). It has a huge Rec room (with a piano, huge TV, ping pong, etc.) and a small study space. Personally I loved studying in the Rec room at night; there are plenty of tables and sofas laid out. Outside the Rec room, there is a front desk that manages student affairs and mail. There is also a printing machine if you need it (they charge you from your UF account). The rooms at Beaty look the same; you can find the floor plans and pretty accurate pictures on the UF website and plenty of YouTubers have reviewed the apartments. Depending on your RA, there are a lot of activities planned out and free food throughout the year! My impression while I was there is that people at Beaty are doing their own thing as I was; I mostly spoke to my roommates and my RA. Security at Beaty is moderately tight (comfortable), you need a magnet to activate the doors to open and a key to access your dorm.

It has been a good dorm experience for a freshman. I like the location on campus and enjoy the suite style very much. However, I wish that it was maintained better. For instance, at times our bathroom was not cleaned for more than a week and we lack toilet paper during those times.

Honestly, I feel spoiled calling Beatty Towers my freshaman experience. I never had to endure communal bathrooms, and that is absolutely not a complaint. Having a kitchen in my room is genuinely such a treat, as I can't even imagine having to rely on a microwave as my sole source of food. The location is also perfect, I love being located directly above a pod market. Overall, I really cannot complain about anything within Beatty.
