Hume Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Florida

Hume was a great, studious environment. I enjoyed the common area's study rooms and access to printers. It is across from Flavet Field, which is great if you would like to play soccer, football, or pickleball. It is a bit far from the rest of campus which was not ideal for me. It was very clean and I appreciated the suite-style bathrooms.

It was very nice. I met lots of people there. We used the kitchen a lot and it it was great for meeting other residents. The study rooms are very nice and there is a piano. Hume is a beautiful building, it is just a little far from classes.

Hume is a nice dorm with suite-style bathrooms. I preferred this style of bathroom, as you only have to share with 3 others. I also appreciated how we had a sink in our rooms. However, the location of the dorm is less than ideal. It is very close to the Reitz Union, Physics and Engineering buildings, and fraternity row, so it is beneficial if you plan on frequenting those locations. However, it is about a mile walk from any other location on campus, which I found a bit difficult.

Living at Hume Hall was really helpful throughout my first two years of college. It gave me the opportunity to meet others who were like-minded and have an RA that provided me with valuable information. Additionally, being able to go downstairs to pick up packages and study was a nice change of pace!

Hume is very quiet. Not a lot of people leave their dorms. Its good to meet like minded students, and its nice if you need peace and quiet to study. Its pretty far from the center of campus though. It is right next to the physics building however.

The RA didn't control the noise level, and often times contributed to it during quiet hours, as well as not controlling the cleanliness of the commons area. The dorms were really small for two people considering how much each resident paid. The maintenance and staff were fine.

I have had a great first semester at Hume Hall in UF. Everyone is always so kind, both students and staff and my RA has been amazing. The dorms themselves are clean and well managed. My only issue is the dorm’s distance from the main campus, but even that is manageable.

I like that's it very close to many things on campus, like the Reitz Union, and it across the street from a place that serves food until 2 in the morning. The hallways and common area are kept pretty clean and I've never had a problem with bugs or other pests. Maintenance is efficient and super prompt with requests. The students here are pretty friendly and you can often find people hanging out in the common area if you want to be social. Quiet hours are usually respected well. There are also many great amenities like ping pong, foosball, keyboards and a library in Hume Commons.
