Cougar Village 1 Dorm Reviews at UH

Cougar Village 1 is definitely not the worst dorm to live in compared to other dorms offered at the University of Houston, but it did have a few problems. The elevators would always be broken and the laundry room was never the cleanest.

My experience at Cougar Village 1 has been very smooth, I have had no issues. I have been able to contact maintenance when needed and there are nightly cleanings. As well as the fact that there are many study area options.

Living at Cougar Village 1 made my entire first year. It was a great dorm. Met alot of fun people. Some of my closest friends to this day are people I met at CV1. I love how UH also creates activities that bring residents together also. I would recommend it to any incoming freshmen

Staying in cv1 as a freshmen made me feel safe. The security was very good because a lot of incoming freshmen were minors. highly recommended and they take every complain and suggestions serious. they also help you make friends especially for people with social anxiety.

The room was small and cold and looked like a jail cell. The bed is small and you can barely fit. the only natural light you get is a tiny window. The shower is tiny and you can barely fit. Unless you wake up super early you get cold water.

It is a safe place that will feel like a home away from home. It comes with many features that are easily accessible. The placement of the dorm is convenient whereas it is a good distance from eating grounds as well as classes.

Throughout my stay at Cougar Village 1, I had to share a room with a roommate. I was lucky enough to become best friends with all of the people I lived with but I am sure there were others not as lucky as I was. I would definitely recommend all freshman live on campus their first year as it made the college experience even more memorable and made it easier to make friends and be involved on campus.

I’ve only gone to visit the cougar village but everything looks nice and clean for students. I think I will enjoy my stay in this dorm. The bathrooms and rooms are quite small but it’s much safer to the alternative apartments.

Extremely comfortable and provides a great study space for me and for my friends. It gives you more than enough space for your personal items and for your roommate if you choose to have one. Overall a great experience

I have lived here for an entire semester and I will live here for the rest of the second semester then move out since it is for freshmen only, but it is amazing! if me and my roommates could live here again we for sure would. Best place ever and huge fancy rooms.

The dorms are more quiet than the other dorm buildings, great facilities , and good space. The walk to the cougar woods is kind of far that is why there is a another dining hall right next to us but it is closed for the mean time.

While it is currently rather barren because of COVID-19, the layout of CV1 and the conveniences (like the mini grocery store and gym downstairs) would make it a great place to live and would cater to a good college experience outside of a pandemic.

Very nice and quiet, not a lot happens considering the pandemic. The RA's are fairly nice and helpful. I tend to stay to myself so I don't deal with noise. We are also right next to the Cougar Market which is very convenient.
