Thomas Beckham Hall (TBH) Dorm Reviews at UIC

TBH is a very convenient location, because it is very close to Student Center East, and a prime location for food options. Students particularly appreciate the atmosphere with there being restaurants, a hair salon, a bar, coffee shop, and so much more within a span of a mile.

Thomas Beckham Hall is an apartment style dorm at UIC. It is one of the better, well-maintained dorm halls of UIC. Although more expensive than your traditional UIC dorm, you are given an option of 1-4 person apartment style room. You are also not forced to sign up for a meal plan, so you are able to cook for yourself. There is also no dining hall in TBH. Everyone there seems friendly and willing to make new connections.

This is my first time in the TBH dorms and I like the format of it. There are 4 person clusters and 2 person clusters. I am in a 4 person cluster, and the format of the 4 person cluster is everyone has their own room (A,B,C,D), shared common living area, shared kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. Rooms A and B share one bathroom while rooms C and D share the other. This residence has 4 floors and there are more than 1 common area on every floor. This place also feels safe security wise because you are only allowed entrance into the dorm building with your university i-card or UIN and you also have to be assigned to TBH. Lastly, the location of this dorm is nice its by a lot of restaurants and within reasonable distance of grocery store so there is a lot of variety for food.
